Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass by Lewis Carroll, my favorite books when I was a kid and still two of my favorites. (and as far as I'm concerned there has never been any movie or TV version that did them justice.) I also want to get in a plug for the Annotated Alice books by Martin Gardner, which were published much later and explain many of the in-jokes, etc.
