haha. I have no idea where you live but I love playing tour guide to the SF (San Fran, not Stephen Fry!) area. If you're ever gonna be out here, let me know, I can take you to cool places us locals go that most tourists don't know about.
Haight St. was famous in the 60s because it was one of the places where the hippie movement got started and it now has a lot of cool shops and bars and a great revival movie theater and other things. I live in Oakland and both Oakland and SF are quite a ways away from Monterey, check google maps. :)
I was just a tyke when the hippie movement was starting, so I was not aware. Besides, I've never set one foot in CA, ever. Not even for an airport refueling stop.
Haven't seen my friend in person since 1982, but when we're on the phone it's like we talked just yesterday. It's really pretty kool!
