Didn't get enough sleep last night plus I accidentally ripped the shit out of my nightshirt. It's really old, I have to toss it. Also, my parents are demanding to inspect my refurbished apartment when they come on Xmas. I think this is largely an excuse for them to give me another lecture because nothing is ever neat and clean enough for them. my mom actually picks up couch cushions and looks under them to see if it's messy.

OMG. Sounds like your mother and my mother-in-law should meet up! When we lived in her father's house, which made her our landlord, she was always snooping around and even made a comment like "Your house needs a good cleaning" and suggested I could HIRE SOMEONE to come in. Pft. I basically told her to fuck off and that Chris and I work all week, thus cleaning gets done on the weekend when we're both home.

Good luck with that. At least you have time to clean like a madwoman :) Or not :)

Unfortunately, I'm on disability and can't pay my own rent so they do it.
I already live too far away for them to easily drive to. I live in California and they live in Texas.
