it's a real drag having to worry about money all the time. I added it up in my head and after all the payments I made on payday a few days ago for groceries and utilities and stuff I've only got about $200 to last the rest of this month and it's only the 5th. I envy the hell out of people who have jobs and stuff, you get less than minimum wage on disability. I know because i did the math. I really like myself but i wish I didn't have Asperger's.

I know that feeling. Awhile back, it took us awhile to recover from Smokey's vet bills so we were living paycheck to paycheck for awhile. I had to get quite creative when it came to getting the groceries.

yeah, vet bills can be way up there. I used to be a vet's assistant.

It was CRAZY. Especially at the ER where we took him first. Oh well. He's good now so hopefully we won't be seeing any more bills for a long time.

In Italy disability is also a pittance, plus now the rightwing media have made a big campaign claiming there's too many cheaters and the rightwing "technical" government has forced everyone to waste time, money and energy to be re-evaluated. As if autism, or blindness, could magically vanish.
Here's wishing that the price of groceries will not climb too much.

in the US it's more the libertarians who are trying to get rid of disability than the republicans, and there aren't enough libertarians here to be much of a threat.

That's comforting. Italy being what it is, they would never get rid of disability, just make it very very cumbersome to get it. A bit like voter ID laws don't make it impossible for poor people to vote, just very hard (I may be wrong, that's just what I understood by reading US liberal media).

I'm right there with you. I hate the piddly amount we get for disability and I hate not having money and worrying about money and trying to figure out how to make the money last. Then, the cherry on the top of all this is that everything gets more expensive.

I'm so glad you like yourself. *hugs*

I probably wouldn't have the imagination I have if it weren't for the Asperger's. *hugs back*

Darling, those of us without disability often find ourselves in the same boat. You'll have to come over sometime and we'll do a one on one potluck. Or vice versa. :)
