Not much going on here right now, for the past two days in a row, some of my neighbors' kids have had birthday parties. Both times they did something right after singing "Happy Birthday" that I've never heard before, they starting chanting "are you one, are you two," etc. all the way up to nine the first time and eleven the second time. it sounded really weird.

some of my neighbors' kids are rude in addition to being weird.

It is weird, and if it's a trend I'm hoping it takes a LONG time crossing the Atlantic because it seems really very annoying. In Italy we usually try and celebrate kids' birthdays away from home unless we know that the neighbors don't mind.

oh, I don't mind kids having parties if they're well-behaved.

I think wellbehaved kids is an oxymoron. At least, statistically speaking (and definitely in my household). But I do hope if there are any left they are near you..

I've heard that. It's a ritual, just before the virgin sacrifice.

I have never heard that at the end of the song. That is weird.
