Roomie and I are supposed to do our major grocery shopping today but I don't know how well that's gonna work if we can't get the cart up to the apt. The elevator was busted yesterday. It's making me really nervous.

Day 12 - A movie that you hate

I'm going to get in big trouble for this because everybody but me thinks this movie is a classic. It's A Wonderful Life. Having been broke I can tell you that a whole townful of people does not run over to your house with big bushel baskets full of money and IF A WOMAN IS NOT MARRIED IT IS NOT SOME FUCKING FATE WORSE THAN DEATH!

I'm with Bruce Wayne I can't get past the title.

I get that at least once in one's life, everyone has gazed into the abyss and really wondered if the world would be better off without them

but yeah, I don't think all would be forgiven just like that *rolls eyes*

you could actually get a good story out of that concept instead of some icky sweet crap.

I haven't a clue why that film is so beloved. It was considered a box office failure when it came out. I saw it on TV before the cosmic surge of love enveloped it and wrote it off. Go figure?

For many reasons I hated Titanic too. For one, it disregarded the tragedy and bravery of the real passengers. Another film that left a bad taste was The English Patient.. I can't wibble over adultery and the hero giving the Nazis war secrets. Wish I had walked out on those. I did leave Children of Men before the end. Saw nothing that wasn't already given away in the preview, the plot was composed of chase scenes, and Michael Caine had little more than a cameo.

The ONLY reason I like that movie is because Jimmy Stewart's in it. Without him, I'd never give it a second thought.

I'd rather watch him in Harvey or Rear Window or Rope.

The only thing I can say in favor of that movie is that it inspired the delicious parody in A Bit of Fry and Laurie.
