It may have been going downhill but I'm still pissed about House going off, especially since i assumed Hugh was going to go off and be awesome on some other show but apparently he's going to quit doing TV altogether. He seems to pick bad movies to be in more often than not too. If he does more albums I will DEFINITELY buy them though.

I think he has enough money now that he can afford to be choosy about his movies. I heard he was doing one based on Mr. Pip and that was actually a pretty good book! I think he's going to do more music, which I'm happy about... maybe have more time to do something with Stephen, I hope!

Mr. pip actually does sound good, the oranges and all those kids movies, though, ugh.

It won't be the same as seeing him on TV weekly, but I bet we'll see him in specials. Maybe a mini-series, or as guest star on other shows. British TV programs seem to work differently than US, so maybe Hugh will get enticed by a five-episode endeavor or something.

I am more sad that it's so unlikely we'll see Hugh and RSL together again, given that Hugh doesn't like to do theater and that's all RSL wants to do.

yeah, Hugh and Robbie have wonderful chemistry together and they seem to be on friendly terms outside of work too. i can totally see them hanging out together, having dinner, etc.

Seconded on the BBC-as-temptation. If, as [livejournal.com profile] hazeltea suggested above, he could do something with SF, so much the better. I don't find either so unlikely.

Maybe they could do a BBC production of a play and ask RSL to be in it? [wishful thinking, I know].

How about buying the DVDs of the TV series? The writing sucks, but the acting doesn't and seeing Hugh growing simultaneously older and hotter is awesome.

I own the DVDs of the first 3 years. The show went downhill after that to the extent that I can't bring myself to spend $$ on the later seasons.

I'm going to miss House and Wilson but I hope we get to see them in other things. Fortunately I have my DVD's to keep me company!

I was kind of bummed, but I think this is better than dragging along indefinitely.

i would feel better about it if Hugh would go be awesome in some British comedy show, go back to his roots effectively.

I'm just happy he will no longer be demeaning himself on a near weekly basis. As awesome as Hugh is to look at, I stopped watching awhile ago because I felt to sorry for him and didn't want to participate in his degradation.

I'm hoping that after a break, which after House he has more than earned, he will come back and preferably do something with Stephen.

That and I would really really really really like for him to finish the second Thomas Lang book and for there to be more after that!

Maybe you'll/he'll get offered a can't turn down cable script. That's what happened with Damian Lewis. He said he would never do TV again because it's too much for him and his family but look who is the male lead in "Homeland". It has to be hard from our lovelies from across the pond to maintain their lives both here and there. Cable shows are only 12 episodes verses the network 24. I will keep my fingers crossed. Like Damian Hugh has a spot on American accent and is an amazing actor.

If he wanted to do more British TV I wouldn't mind it as long as I can see it. His best non House work was always on British TV.
