Spent a lot of time yesterday late afternoon and early evening hanging around good old Haight Street, had a couple of beers at good old Magnolia and listened to cool old blues songs and the Beatles and had some nice conversations with some people at the communal tables, some of whom were tourists and wanted to know a good place to go get dinner on Haight so i gave them a few recommendations including where i was headed, Memphis Minnie's, and they loved it. So did I but they're always good. I usually don't get dessert when I'm there (the barbecue is so filling) but this time I had pecan pie which was really good, and a huge piece too. :)

BBQ and pecan pie? You sure you aren't Southern?? Damn now I'm hungry for some BBQ and my Aunt Vera's pecan pie.

my dad's family is Southern and I have some very Southern tastes in food and drink. I even learned how to make fried chicken from an elderly African-American lady from Alabama.
I would love it more than anything if you would come visit me.

Mh... pecan pie. I love pecan pie. I never have it outside the US (I don't even know a word for pecan in a language other than English). I can so imagine both your happiness and the friendly attitude that led strangers to (correctly) trust you judgement.
