Some thoughts on Disney's Pocahontas:

Roomie says she doesn't look American Indian, more Asian. he's got a point.
Wiggins seems to be based at least partly on HL (his earlier upper class twit roles, NOT House!)
DO NOT pick up baby bears and start playing with them if you see them in the wild. This is a very effective way of getting the mama bear to remove the upper half of your body for you.

One of my heroes, Russell Means, was heavily involved in the Pocahontas film. I was am still horribly disappointed in him because of it :(

I don't blame you. it reminds me a little of how disappointed I was that one of my heroes, John Lennon, didn't believe in evolution.

Re John Lennon: I guess in the sixties and seventies people realized that not everything scientists had claimed was true. It cannot have been easy for the not-enough-educated to learn again who and what was trustworthy.
I still am very suspicious of medical "research" despite so much of it being honest and correct.

I would agree that she doesn't look very Native American. I just remember it being an OK film, not great, but not terrible either

Lindsay Ellis (aka Nostlagia Chick) did her first-ever review on That Guy With The Glasses on Pocahontas. She referred to her as an "a-ethnic mush [of hotness]" and said she was based on multiple hot models of multiple ethnicities. Here's the link:

I blame teddy bears for making humans (stupid humans) think that bears in general are cuddly and cute. A bear is possibly the only mammal which is as omnivorous and as violent as a human, plus it's big, has strong teeth and sharp claws. And of course mammal mothers are very protective of their kids whatever their species.
What you wrote should be displayed in big letters during the beginning and ending titles.

(I'm told that the fact Pocahontas is not white is supposed to be a Big Deal. Whether we will get first a Disney Princess with an ugly nose or a chubby one remains an open question.)

I prefer the version of Pocahontas they did in the Addam's Family Values movie :)

To my eyes, she looks Polynesian.

If she were to be Native American, then I'd wager Central or South American, not North American.
