the jazz festival was just fantastic! I'm only sorry I didn't get to stay there longer but the rest of the grocery shopping I had to do first took way too long due to the slowness of the stupid buses and Trader Joe being full of insane children running around screaming and having temper tantrums. Work before fun though.

I never understood why my kids went systematically berserk in our supermarket (much small and ligher than any Trader Joe I know). I then read many are sensitive to the artificial lights, neverending music, and just plain old sensory overload. Luckily since age five there's no problem - they just walk to the kids' books shelf and sit on the floor reading (or looking at pictures, when they were real small) while I shop quietly. I don't know if you'd object to kids reading on the floor, though :).

And shopping with the bus is annoying as hell. So glad you got at least some of the jazz festival!

I would not object in the least to kids reading on the grocery store floor. I'd be thrilled.
