Okay, I'm kind of pissed, apparently the stupid inspection didn't go as well as I thought and they're giving me a hard time about my apt. not being clean enough for them last week, even though THEY had the water turned off. try doing any cleaning w/ no water and see how well that works out. I don't think I'm in any trouble, they did not threaten to kick me out, but it's annoying as hell that this was the maintenance inspection, not the white glove thing that they sometimes pull, and they STILL give me a hard time. they're coming back on the 30th so roomie and I have to clean up more by then.

If I ever would have to go through such a thing they would kick me out immediately. I would say I'm the most impressive slob ever, except thank heavens for my wonderful mother-in-law, proud creator of the wise philosophy "if seeing your home in a mess makes you sad, you can always go for a walk!"

Oh, and by the way, in Italian is and and are homophonic (i.e., sound alike) but have different spellings (è vs e). At age eight, my daughter had as homework to write a sentence containing both words. She wrote "My home is dirty and messy." I don't know what her teacher thought.

I'm not terribly worried. Roomie and I can clean up, it's more of an inconvenience than a threat.

I think if I lived in your building I would have gone postal on the 'inspectors/maintenance workers' in your building.

How dirty can your apartment be and how clean do they expect you to keep it?

it isn't that dirty. they're just being annoying. it doesn't help that the kitchen and bathroom floors are white.

I am sorry to hear this- I guess I'm really lucky, our landlady rarely if ever inspects the place and tends to give us a fair amount of lee-way
