Still waiting, not going to get paid till next week, and I don't have any money on my laundry card either so I can't do laundry and my dirty clothes are really starting to pile up. ugh. also I got stung by a bee yesterday while swimming in the pool.

I've managed to make it with enough quarters to do one wash and one dry.

Since the fourth is a Saturday, I should get my big check on Friday. Get the smaller SSI on Wednesday, enough to pay one bill and hold me over for a couple days.

This is what, the second year in a row with no cost of living raise, yet the cost of living has risen steadily? Bah.

the machines we have don't take quarters, you have to take at least $10 out of your bank account and put it on the card and i have only about $8 in my account right now. :(

Hope the bee sting is nowhere really painful. My family's dirty clothing piles up anyway, but that's because we should do about one load a day and I always forget. Also in Italy the standard is to own a washing machine, not to have a laundry card - and to have no drier (Italian clothes get spoiled very fast in the drier anyway).

Would you be allowed to earn extra money beyond your disability? In Italy someone as cultivated as you could earn money on the side with after school help, but that's because most kids go to public schools that are for free, so parents have money to spare for extras.

I'm pretty bad with young kids (except mine who are low maintenance because, hey they're my kids) but I can deal well with teaching teenagers.

On the other hand, I could never deal with sick people. I'm so impressed by your voluntary work. But I know it's hard to get money with that. We live in a strange world.

(My boyfriend has a washer and dryer now, methinks I'll use his soon.)
Agh though. The neighborhood one is so disgusting sometimes, someone seriously peed in it once. I'm tempted to just wash the clothes in the bathtub sometimes.

the pool at my bldg. is usually pretty clean except for a few leaves and drowned bees. If I caught anybody peeing in there I'd be pissed (no pun intended). i swam 16 laps yesterday.

I once saw ducks swimming in our pool. It freaked me out and I was afraid to touch the bottom.

I saw a line of baby ducks and a momma duck walking down my street once. and I live in Oakland, not some little farm town.

As a kid I used to be tempted to take one of the ducklings in the lake to see as a pet.
