Recently finished watching the King's Speech again, this time online. I cried again at his speech at the end. I almost NEVER cry at movies. See, it may be none of my business but this is EXACTLY the sort of movie I think Hugh should be doing. I love the man to death but he has a bad case of what I call Michael Caine Syndrome. Very talented but will be in ANYTHING.

Amen to that.

I will not get into the recent marital quarrel due to a disagreement on whose fault it was we missed the _one_ chance to see the original (i.e., non dubbed) version of this movie in a theatre and now have to wait for the DVD.

I'd probably be too polite (or dizzy with lust) to tell him that to his face.

it was so great. when I first saw it in the theater it was kind of on impulse too, it was one of those, "oh, I have money and nothing to do, let's see what's in this movie theater" moments.

Wasn't that an amazing movie? I got such chills. And IA about Hugh, I love period dramas and they can only improve with his amazing acting chops. He was in Sense and Sensibility if I remember correctly and he was excellent.

He was great in S&S. He didn't have a large role but he was very effective. His face is so beautifully expressive. If he'd been around in an earlier era he would have fit right in silent movies.

The King's Speech is a great movie. My husband stutters, and we both cried after the movie was over--just sat in the theater and cried. It was so accurate in the depiction of the pressures of having a stutter!

I agree about Michael Caine syndrome. I just wish he'd pick good projects instead of crap like Hop.
