Still have this stupid cold but my mood is vastly improved by having some of my awesome friends come over for dinner and hanging out and music and fun conversation. I felt a little weird about having to explain to one of my friends who Paul Newman was. Some of my friends are a lot younger than me and she seemed to think he was just some guy who made popcorn, salad dressing, spaghetti sauce. lemonade, etc.

I love the Rocky Horror movie, and by extension its soundtrack. This comment was written with the same soundtrack :-).

They didn't know who Paul Newman was? I can't even get over the fact that he's no longer the gorgeous man I can remember from so many movies, let alone he's dead. Sad. The eyes, OhMyGod. The eyes [hyperventilates].

[In case this wasn't obvious, I really like blue eyes. The lighter, the better. Three kids with a grey-eyed husband, three pairs of brown eyes staring at me every day. Where's genetic engineering when you need it?]

RHPS with House=Frank'n'Furter, Wilson as Brad, Cameron as Janet, Cuddy as Magenta, Foreman as Riff Raff, Stacy as Columbia, Chase as Rocky Horror? I certainly wouldn't object to Hugh Laurie dressed as Tim Curry in the movie, and he can certainly sing well enough. "But by night I'm just a hell of a lover." [I'm an innocent girl and if I have such sinful thoughts it's all your fault! LOL.]

my House Halloween fic, "Imps", had, among other things, House and my SI going to Rocky Horror as Riff Raff and Columbia but HL would make an excellent Frank, he has the pipes and he also has big expressive eyes and long muscular legs like Tim Curry.
I like your choices a lot except i would pick dwarf mom for Columbia. I like dwarf mom a lot.

I wanted to pick regular cast. I wish someone like dwarf mom were regular cast, she was really awesome, and a fantastic choice for Columbia.

House would make an awesome Riff Raff, but I'm glad you also see him as Frank. I think Frank'n'Furter is one of the sexiest movie characters ever, and RHPS is a great example of how to make the singing a part of the story.

And now I'll have to go and search for your halloween fic :-). At least there's an archive by date. Do you remember what month that was?

I don't know what's worse. When I have the cultural disconnect moments with people who's lack of knowledge is somewhat justified by the age difference or when it occurs across a different divide. I was gob-smacked a few weeks ago when my African-American co-worker of my own age range had NO IDEA who Carole King was and had never heard of Tapestry.
