Had an interesting day yesterday, among other things I went and hung out at a couple of second hand bookstores reading about animation, a subject I've always been interested in, especially the more arty stuff that's not intended for kids. There was a book about the making of my favorite animated movie of all time, Yellow Submarine, which I would have bought but they wanted a lot of money for it. There was also a rather extensive book on Looney Tunes shorts, which i mostly loved. does anyone remember this one cartoon where Porky Pig and Sylvester are on vacation and they stop off at this house that is completely overrun by these evil mice who keep trying to kill them and Porky is totally oblivious to this and Sylvester winds up smacking Porky in the head with a frying pan and driving away and the evil mice are hiding in the car? That cartoon scared the SHIT out of me when I was a little kid.

LOL I used to go to school for animation and even worked in an animation house for awhile. I love the crazy offensive WWII cartoons.

I'm not sure I want to see that, much less what my kids' ancestors and their axis companions were doing. There's a bona fide SS member in my husband's direct blood line.

As a child I had nightmares for weeks out of a Bugs Bunny cartoon.
I absolutely love Yellow Submarine, and so do my kids.

I'm not even sure it was Bugs Bunny. But there was a rabbit, or a hare, being shot again and again. That's a memory from the time when I didn't know what the mysterious "That's all, folks!" might possibly mean. Nor did I have the idea that different languages were pronounced in different ways. Or, rather, one of them (yours) in many different and confusing ways.

I also have the DVD of Yellow Submarine. And I might even talk my kids into seeing that.

I know the one you mean, they reused/redubbed it for part of quackbusters, a compilation film they did in the 80s/early 90s that I remember seeing as a kid.
