looking forward to a party tonight with some of my awesome friends.
here's the last day of the 10 day meme

Day Ten: One confession.

I was going to put this in fandom secrets but anyone reading it there would probably know it was me that wrote it anyway.
This is how much of a goofy fangirl I am. You may be aware that i had to have a hysterectomy recently because I had really fucked up periods. One of the problems with them was they were extremely painful. At one point the pelvic pain was so bad I briefly had to use a cane when I walked and I love House so much I actually felt PROUD to use it. and yes, I realize he'd think that was ridiculous.

It's not ridiculous. I'd probably feel the same if I had to use a cane. Hell, I'd even feel like dressing more like House :) Might as well look the part ;)

I actually have deliberately dressed like him. I wore jeans and sneakers and a grey blazer and an incoherent T shirt.

My mom has to use a cane when her hip acts up, and I am seriously considering painting some flames on it for her.

I can totally understand the pride, although I'm happy you're no longer in pain. Think of yourself as House on ketamine :-). I usually wear jeans and sneakers (tech-looking ones) but I'm too chilly to run around without a sweater in winter. Summer project: getting perfect House look.
My personal strong point: graying stubble on my chin!

And as a side personal remark, I'm so glad you got rid of your painful periods. I did the same (via hormones not surgery) and I feel much much better. [I'm such a wuss. I never needed a cane. And still hated it.]

I was on hormones for three years, they were working for most of the time, then they stopped working. my doctor told me my uterus was way too big for a woman who had never been pregnant, in addition to having really bad fibroids. Glad to get rid of the damn thing.

I'm at the two years mark. And both my mother and her mother had a hysterectomy before they turned fifty. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. But if the hormones stop working, it's surgery for me as well.

my mom had a hysterectomy when she was younger than I am now and she was in the hospital for a couple of weeks. i was only in the hospital for a weekend. my doctor said I heal faster than any other patient he has. :)
