House stood in the doorway for what was probably only a few seconds, but it felt like a lot longer. He wasn't expecting to see Wilson there, and he certainly wasn't expecting to see Wilson looking like he was both extremely depressed and in a high state of pissed-off-ness. Wilson didn't seem to notice that House had come in, either that or he was doing a very good job of ignoring him.
House walked in and sat down at the bar several seats away from Wilson, looping his cane over a small metal hook bolted under the bar that a lot of the patrons used for bags, jackets, etc. and ordered himself a shot of Macallan's and a Scrimshaw beer.
"Hey, Wilson," he said quietly.
"Well, House, you managed to leave me alone for all of two minutes, I guess I should be impressed at your self-control or something," Wilson growled.
"Whoa, where the hell did THAT come from? I just was going to offer to buy you dinner and a lot of drinks and catch up with what's been happening with you."
Wilson sighed heavily. "That actually sounds good except for the part about dinner and catching up." He went over to the stool next to House.
"What the fuck happened to you?"
"I do not want to talk about that right now, House. Let's have some drinks and play really loud music so I don't have to think too much." Before sitting on the barstool, he went over to the jukebox, put some money in and started blasting some speed metal, which made House raise his eyebrows.
"Since when did you turn into a headbanger?" House had to yell above a pounding bass line.
"I feel like banging someone's head, that's for sure! Not yours!" Wilson yelled back. "Now, what was that about buying me a lot of drinks?"
