I have been fucking around with the phone company for two days now, thank fuck that's over. All I have to do now is wait for the new phone to show up in the mail and hope it doesn't get lost.

I'm cursed to used optical fiber but I'm still using a phone from the '80's. That's 1980's. I bought it at a garage sale. Plugs into the internet router. Works fine, so long as there's no power failure. Unlike reliable, tried and true copper wire phone lines, optical fiber does not supply power.
