I have been spending the last two days trying to get ahold of AT&T because home phones in Calif have to get some upgrade. I have to do this because the wiring in my apt bldg is at least fifteen years old (and I think it's older) so my internet works through my home phone line. At least it's not like it was in the 90's when you couldn't use the computer and the phone at the same time. The guy just told me there's some problem and he has to put me through to his manager so who the hell knows when I'm going to be able to get this resolved.

well, I had to fart around on the damn phone for two days but it's finally been taken care of, the new home phone should show up in the mail sometime in the next week and a half. I just hope it doesn't get lost in the mail.
