Holy cow! That describes Whitney to a T. These days she is a sacred cow. If I dare criticize her, I am told she is an icon, a legend. I am not to speak against her. I always hated her body of work. Her songs were pure sap.
I didn't even like her voice. Yes, in the technical sense it was good, but it was sort of boring. Her style was to shout and scream and diva all over every song as if to say, "Look what a good singer I am." There was so little nuance. She songs she sang were rarely hard to sing. She never had much to say. Give me Sarah McLachlan or Dar Williams any day over Whitney.
