I went to the Safeway yesterday because I needed groceries and there were no other grocery stores open and there were clowns there for some reason. I FUCKING HATE CLOWNS. They freak me the fuck out.

You know what's really freaky? Those compressor-pumped balloon people with the really long wavy arms. The first time I saw one I saw it out of the corner of my eye, and it triggered a huge adrenal fight-or-flight boost -- my first thought was that there was some sort of colorfully-swathed living creature fifteen feet tall and obviously angry, over there. Then my mind wrapped itself fully around what I was seeing and I recognized that it was a balloon prop.

There's one episode of Animaniacs in which Wacko, a hardcore coulrophobe, beats the stuffing out of a clown. If YouTube didn't get hit with so many DMCA orders over it, I'm sure it would still be up, and I'd be linking it here.

that was the weird part, they were just grocery shopping. If they were juggling or doing acrobatics or something at least they'd be putting on a show. A lot of people in the Safeway were staring and judging from their expressions at least some of them shared my clown phobia.
