There was a meeting in my bldg yesterday, I was kind of put off because I'd never met the woman running it before who claimed to be from some mental health organization and she asked very nosy questions, she wanted to know who's gay and who's straight and who had what disability. Also Scientology guy was in there telling lies and yammering about astrology but he left early. Plus I found out this woman who lives in the bldg is an anti-vaxxer. God.
Fixed myself a pot of Earl Grey this morning, found out I was almost out of it and went to five different stores looking for loose Earl Grey. Four of them didn't have any and the woman in the fifth one wouldn't even tell me how much it cost until she had measured it out and then it turned out to be super super expensive and I got so fed up I left. By this time my leg hurt way too damn much so I went home. Also I didn't have enough $$ on my clipper card to take public transit anywhere. For the past several days I have not been anywhere near a Walgreen's or a Bart station which are pretty much the only places you can get more $$ put on a clipper card. On top of that I would have liked to have gotten lunch out but I do not want to screw up my diet, especially not this early.
P.S. My parents have covid.

I am sorry to hear about your parents. I hope their cases are mild and they recover quickly. Is this their first brush?

It is their first brush. (I'm one of the very few people I know offline who's never had it.) My parents tend to minimize every bad physical thing that happens to them so it could be a much worse case than they're telling me. They're like the Black Knight in Monty Python and the Holy Grail going "it's just a flesh wound" when he loses an arm. Also, they're really old (80's) and I know covid messes up old people worse.

My mom is the only person I can think of who I know offline who hasn't had it, and she was stuck in an RV with my dad when he had it. That said, my dad is 89 and he was only sick for about 2 days. (And he didn't have the bivalent booster - just the first two shots and the original booster.) The biggest gripe he had was that he couldn't go outside until he tested negative. So, fingers crossed it won't be bad for them. I have heard that the latest strain has been mostly milder for people.

My parents have had the main shots and two boosters. I don't know if it was Pfizer or Moderna or some other brand. I had Pfizer, again the two main shots and two boosters.

Nosey lady and anti-vaxxer lady are two different people but yeah. (Anti-vaxxer lady lives in this bldg, nosey lady doesn't.)

Oh my, it never rains but it pours, eh? I do hope you can get more added to your transit card soon. All that walking is very hard on you.

Good for you in sticking to the diet, though. That's never an easy thing until it becomes second nature. Eventually it does, but that takes quite a while. You know you've got support, but the real onus is, of course, on you.

So sorry about your parents. That totally sucks!
