Bigotry of any sort pisses me off. Last night I had a fantastic time at a concert of the local gay men's chorus (several of the members are very good friends of mine) and I went with another very close friend who has gay dads, and at one point when i was off by myself I had to deal with a total idiot. It irritates me. I did a sort of informal mental survey and I actually have more GLBT friends than hetero friends, even though I'm straight as a ruler myself. My friends are some of the nicest, smartest, most interesting people you could ever meet, and I feel really protective of them.

I hate that crap too. I am married to a SUPER conservative man. Though, he never tells me I am wrong or says things that would upset me. We actually have very intelligent conversations about or stances on subjects like that.

I have a few friends who are republican but they're not very stereotypical conservatives, they smoke pot and listen to punk rock, etc. I'm a jeffersonian leftie.

We get high too. He has his own way on what he think "God" is and I'm Buddhist. So, he's not crazy Republican. It's just their big issues he agrees with. The ones that aggrevate every1, lol. Well minus the Christian holly roller stuff. I am pro-life and pro-gun but other than that I am pretty much Liberal.

I'm liberal and pro gun because I'm not scared of guns but of stupid and/or crazy people having guns. I'm also an atheist. My best friend is a Buddhist.

I think, you know, I can understand some bigotry. For example, if someone was raped by a Hispanic - big example - then I could understand their intolerance of Hispanics. Even though obviously not all Hispanics are likely to rape a person...but I can understand that. What I can't understand is somebody who hears of a Hispanic raping somebody, and then assumes all the other Hispanics are the same. First case is a phobia, second case is...not fair. Anyway.

I tell you something else that annoys me, though, is people who generalise gays as being awesome. I mean...I'm sure there are some gay idiots, and some bitchy gays, etc, etc...I'm not saying they're all like that, don't get me wrong. I have a gay friend. Just that this girl once tried to argue with me and told me that gays were awesome, and...it's like saying women are awesome. Obviously, not all of them are. But.

I'm gonna go ahead and friend you, btw. Wow, you post a lot.

thank you. there are some gay people i don't like. I can't stand Richard Simmons for example. The ONLY thing I kind of like about him is he clearly doesn't give a shit that everybody makes fun of him.
