I wish we had more takeout options where I live. The food is mostly mediocre or very expensive with no inbetween.

I'm lucky. there are several very nice restaurants in my neighborhood and a lot of them are not super expensive.

I think because we are a small city/large town there really isn't the competition to make a place stand out. In cities you can go: cheap, excellent food, etc. That doesn't happen when you only have two thai places etc.

I used to live in a very small town. There was only one Chinese restaurant and it wasn't even owned or run by Chinese people.
