My dad called kind of out of the blue yesterday and asked me if I wanted to have lunch with him and my mom today so I said sure. They will be passing through the bay area on their way to boring old Mendocino and they're going to call later.

I had fun, the lunch was very tasty and good conversation with my parents but my mom had a slight bladder infection so she had to go to the doctor today. Being sick is always a drag but more so when you're 2000 miles from home. She was able to get an appointment with a doctor who works with my sister's doctor on very short notice.
Also, my dad gave me some $$$ to buy new pants!
