Jun. 10th, 2024 02:28 pmYesterday was a real mixed bag. The weather was gorgeous. The movie was great and it was nice to see my friends again, including one who I hadn't seen in a really long time. They are super people. Also I had on a t shirt with a big picture of John Lennon on it and some guy I didn't even know complimented me on it. :) After the movies I went to get the fish tacos and beef enchiladas, then went to this bar/cafe/bookstore/music store in the same neighborhood (Temescal), had a good glass of wine and a really interesting conversation with some of the people who work there. They're really nice. I heard some great music too. I always hear great music there. I absolutely love that place. I would live there if I could.
Then the day turned fucked up. The bus never came when I was trying to go home so I had to walk waaaaaaaaaaaay out of my way to catch a different bus. With fucked up legs. Then there was an obnoxious crazy homeless woman on the bus whom I TRIED to ignore but then she started spewing out gibberish about how perfect the buses supposedly were and I know I shouldn't have said anything but I couldn't hold back anymore and I said I had been waiting for the stupid bus for over an hour and she went apeshit, accusing me of being ungrateful that I had a home (not true and what does that have to do with the fucking buses?). Then she started off on the religious fanaticism bullshit. I've noticed a lot of homeless people are religious fanatics. I put this down to mental illness. She apparently thought she could scare me by saying god was going to mess with me but I'm an atheist so I'm not scared of a concept I don't believe in. Boy, did that set her off.
(to my friends who are religious, I do not think all religious people are crazy by any means, I just think religious extremists are crazy. I also think if there was a god he isn't doing a very good job taking care of homeless people)
