The New Yorker has their thumb up their butt and did not do their research again. They were actually giving some credence to Erich Von Daniken and apparently didn't know he's a giant racist. He was mostly well known in the 70's for writing books speculating that the pyramids, the Great Wall of China and other monuments were built by aliens. He didn't think Stonehenge was built by aliens because it's in Europe. You can see where this is going.
