any of the Re/Search series of books, especially the ones on weird obscure films and music. This series of books is fascinating and contains tons of interesting trivia. here's a link to their wikipedia entry if you want to know more about them.

Unfortunately a lot of them are out of print but they can still be found in second hand bookstores, especially in the SF bay area where they were originally published.
