a show you thought you wouldn't like but ended up loving
CSI, Vegas and New York
I am a child of the 70s and therefore thoroughly burned out on cop shows, so I didn't think I would like it, but my best friend/roomie, akumatatsu61 on LJ, has a bunch of the DVDs and is more of a science guy than a cop guy, and he got me into it. And I like the visual tricks on the show, I don't know why some people complain about them. I also like the scientific mystery aspect of the show. And I've been to Vegas 7 or 8 times and can spot places I've actually been. I also like the fact that for the most part the characters don't spend a lot of time bitching at eachother over personal issues despite having very different and distinctive personalities (they have some of the same writers that used to be on Star Trek Next Gen, and the situation was very similar).
