annual fic summary

Most underappreciated: there were lots of jokes and references in "It's Time You Got a Life" but the only one nobody seemed to get was what day House's birthday was, today, January 6th.

Most fun: I have fun writing all my fics, but probably "Insurance and Insolence"

Sexiest: "Insulin"

Single sexiest moment: the bathtub oral sex scene in the "Greed" chapter of "Inferno"

Holy crap, that's wrong even for you moment: in the "Envy" chapter of "Inferno" when House is saying that he isn't the sort of person who gets trapped in abusive relationships and is baffled as to why he's in one, that was me many years ago.

Fic that shifted my own perception of the characters: "I'm Not In Love"

Biggest disappointment: Not being able to finish "Insurance and Insolence". Every eppie of Blackadder revolves around him wanting something and scheming, I wanted to have him trying to get into Cuddy's pants, there should also be some scene with a full on snark battle between him and House, and Baldrick hasn't even shown up yet. I want to have one scene with this bit of dialogue:

House: Who gives a rat's ass?
Baldrick: I had rat's arse for dinner...

Gregory House was born on September 2, 1959,according to Wiki. However that's a bit bizarre since they say that's same day as Hugh, but according to Wiki, Hugh was born on 11 June 1959.

all my sources say Hugh's birthday is June 11th, I think you can pretty much make a fictional character's birthday any day you want unless canon says otherwise, which it never has. I made his birthday Jan. 6th because House has epiphanies.

Actually there's a screen-cap somewhere of House's hospital bracelet, presumably from No Reason, which has a birth-date on it says June 11.

I'm not fond of giving a fictional character the same birthday as the actor, it's like putting a big neon sign saying, THIS IS FAKE, like that crap with starting every phone number with 555. I like to lose myself in the "reality" of a show or movie. (and what kind of loser tries to call fictional characters?)

They may be losers, but there's plenty of them. (Just ask anybody who was unfortunate enough to have a 867-5309 or Beechwood 4-5789 as their phone numbers.) That's why the 555 exchange was established.

You can always fanwank that since it happens in No Reason, that it could just be part of House's hallucination and doesn't HAVE to be taken as canon. It's also House's birthday in The Socratic Method which was first broadcast on December 21st, which takes place after Damned If You Do, so your January 6th idea isn't completely implausible.

this is true. also remember, I made Wilson's birthday 4/25 in "It's What Day Today?" and I don't even know when Robbie's birthday is.
