Last night I got an e mail from L. telling me they won't be seeing me for an indefinite amount of time. I sent back an e mail asking what was wrong. They never answered me. This is someone I've been best friends with for 28 years. I didn't have any kind of an argument with them. The only thing I can think of is that they are an in home caregiver to somebody with a spinal problem and this person's health may have deteriorated to the point where L. is spending so much time and energy that they don't have enough left to be with me but if that's the case why didn't they tell me this? If that person's health has gotten that bad I certainly don't resent them, I just feel sorry for both of them and I'm worried about both of them.
A few days before that they had e mailed me a piece of art I liked which does not sound like something anyone would do to somebody they were mad at but I'm hurt and confused.
Still going to the concert today.

This is good for me to read because I'm kind of in a rough patch right now, and have been wanting my friends to give me some space, but I'm not comfortable explaining why. I guess it's important for me to remember how it might look from the other side. Really it's kind of like what you suspect L is going through. Taking care of another person when they're not well, really sucks the life out of you.
