First, thank you for the late Xmas cards, they were really pretty!
L. can't get together with me, we normally drive around talking and listening to music and podcasts and the car rental company they use has inexplicably left Berkeley and Oakland and they told me the other car rental companies charge a LOT more. I'd be happy to see L. under any other circumstances but I don't know what they're going to wind up deciding to do.
Picked up groceries on the way home from the dentist. I keep getting junk mail that gets my name wrong from a cell phone company, not the one I'm using. I called them to tell them to take me off their mailing list and got stuck with some woman who wouldn't help me because I wasn't already a client of that company. She also spoke TERRIBLE English. I don't mind spelling words for people who need help with it but I'd say "I" and she thought I said "T", I'd say "E" and she thought I said "Y", etc.
Speaking of letters, I thought I'd do the letter meme again, this time I got G.

where would you recommend that I visit? If there's one aspect of visiting a new place that I appreciate it's knowing the locals and trusting their judgement on the most interesting places to go that the tourists don't always get to see.

Uh, that is a good question. My favorite city here in Germany is Dresden. The architecture, the history is AMAZING. I loved Cologne and the next cities next to me are Mainz and Wiesbaden, both are pretty and having a lot of beautiful buildings, museums, churches and so on.

I would say Hamburg is for sure nice as well but I never made it there. Maybe in the future?

I love cool old bldgs and museums, that sounds great. I saw lots of them when I was in Europe before but I didn't get to go to Germany that time.

Yes, that is a reason why I like Europe a lot! All the history, the different cultures. I wish I could travel more, I would love to explore more cities and countries. One dream of mine is Rome and the Vatican.
